Julia Jacoby - RF

Junior third year Varsity player. Great outfielder with eight years of softball experience. Four year letter-winner at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. Two in Softball and two in Tennis. Joined the Varsity team in her freshman year and led the Sundevils to the 2001 Palomar League championship. Julia is a two time ASA Class A Nationals Champion both in the 12u and 14u age bracket. Also competed in Tennis and was named the Sundevils' most improved player of the Varsity Tennis Team in 2002.

Vanessa Soto - 3B

Junior third year Varsity player. 2002-2003 Tri-Captain. Starter third baseman with eight years of softball experience. Two Letter-winner at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. Joined the Varsity team in her freshman year and led the Sundevils to the 2001 Palomar League championship. 2002 CIF Palomar League 2nd Team 3B. Hit 3 HR in '02. Listed in 2003 as one of the top 25 players to watch in San Diego, North County. May North County Times Player of the week.

Kathryn Shaw - OF

Senior Second year Varsity player and JV sophomore year. All around utility player mainly at right field and first base. Twelve years of softball experience, in Rancho Peñasquitos, CA and Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. Union Tribune 2002 All Academic Team. Letter-winner involved in cheerleading for four years, freshman, JV, and varsity. Voted most dedicated cheerleader for 2 years and an all-American candidate. A member of the Mt. Carmel JV gymnastics team and a Member of CSF. Kathryn will be attending San Diego State University.

Megan Childs - CF

Senior, second year Varsity player with 7 years of softball experience. Two-year starting shortstop for the JV team, Megan was named the Defensive player of the year as a Freshman, and Offensive player of the year as a Sophomore. Union Tribune 2002 All Academic Team. Megan is headed to the University at Albany.

Ashley Portugal - LF

Senior, second year Varsity player with 7 years of softball experience. Two-year starter on the JV team playing
outfield and infield. Ashley was the captain of the JV team and received the Sun Devil Award for her
accomplishments last year. Union Tribune 2002 All Academic Team. Ashley will be attending San Diego State University.

Jeannine Estepa - OF/2B

Senior fourth year Varsity team. 2002-2003 Tri-Captain Varsity 2002. Plays 2nd base, left field, utility. Eight years softball experience. Two Letter-winner at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. Led Sundevils to win Palomar League Championship 2001. Only freshman Varsity player in 2000. Member of CSF and NCAA Clearinghouse. Union Tribune 2002 All Academic Team. Jeannine is headed to the University of Hawaii.

Laura Wiens - P

Senior second year Varsity starter. Right handed pitcher. Nine years softball experience. JV Palomar League Champion in freshman year. Sophomore year had shoulder surgery and was unable to compete. Leader in FCA and CSF member. Union Tribune 2002 All Academic Team. Listed in 2003 as one of the top 25 players to watch in San Diego, North County. Laura will be attending Nazarene College.

Kristie Fox - SS/ 2B

Senior third year Varsity. 2002-2203 Tri-Captain. Dual role starter at shortstop and second base with 10 years of experience. Lettered in softball and in soccer at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego, CA. Led the Sundevils to the 2001 Softball Palomar League Championship. One of three returning Varsity softball starters. Union Tribune 2002 All Academic Team. 2002 CIF Palomar League 1st Team SS. 2002 All-CIF San Diego Section 2nd Team Div I. Led the Sundevils to the 2002 soccer CIF finals and was named First Team All League. A 14U ASA Softball National Champion and named 16U ASA SS All Southern California State Team. Hit 3 HR in '02. Listed in 2003 as one of the top 25 players to watch in San Diego. Kristie is headed to the University of Arizona.

Valerie Brown - P/ OF

Junior first year Varsity. Nine year softball player, pitching all nine years. No-Hitter first game as a Freshman; Palomar League Champs 2001. JV defensive Player of the Year; Palomar League Champs 2002. Also, Val is a 3-year cheerleader at MCHS, two years as a Varsity cheerleader. Val also plays outfield besides pitching.


17			Katie Vickers - 2B/ SS *Junior* third year Varsity. Dual positional player at SS and 2B with seven years of softball experience. Letter-winner at Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. Joined the Varsity team in her freshman year and led the Sundevils to the 2001 Palomar League championship. 2002 CIF Palomar League 2nd Team 2B. One of three returning Varsity softball starters. MVP of the JV basketball team, and a member of the CIF championship basketball team of 2001 and Palomar co-champion 2002. Listed in 2003 as one of the top 25 players to watch in San Diego.

14			JoJo Piranio - C/ 1B *Junior* first year Varsity. Seven-year softball player, catcher all seven years. 2001 JV League Champions. 2002 JV MVP of the Year. 2002 Palomar League Champs . 2002.JV Team Captain.

22			Roxanne Llamas - 2B *Freshman* Promoted to Varsity in 2003 from JV. Seven-year softball player. 2003 JV League Champions. Llamas is a 10U Western Regional Champion.

6			Lindsay Warner - CF Sophomore Promoted to Varsity in 2003 from JV. Dual positional player at SS, CF JV. Ten-year softball player. 2002 JV League Champions. 2003 JV Team Captain. 2003 JV League Champions. Competed as freshman in volleyball.
